Christmas Movie Moments

It’s the most wonderful time of the year...

The holiday season is full of sparkling lights, laughter, comfort food, family & friends. We have Christmas Dinners and drinks that we cannot wait to book in our diaries.

However, with that busy schedule, we all need some time to wind down and what better way to relax than watch some of the best Christmas movie moments.

Elf

The first moment has to be from one of the best Christmas movies of all time, ELF, it was so difficult for us to choose a single scene. However, we had to go for when buddy the elf has a chaotic encounter with the stores Santa and declares he is sitting on a throne of lies.

Mean Girls

Okay so we know this second one isn’t a Christmas movie but the "Jingle Bell Rock" performance by the plastics is too iconic to not include in this lineup. Who hasn’t tried to this dance with friends at some point.

The Polar Express

The Polar Express is a childhood classic and the moment that the little boy, Chris, hears the bell ring and is convinced of his belief in Father Christmas just before he meets him in person. Makes us well up, it is a perfect ending.

The Holiday

The Holiday is a classic and nothing says the perfect rom-com when Amanda (Cameron Diaz) literally runs back to Graham (Jude Law) through the snow-covered countryside to accept his declaration of love and doesn’t run away from a moment of true love. The romance plus the cutest winter cabin equals the perfect holiday movie.

The grinch

The Grinch The TV special's ending is a bit more straightforward, but Cindy Lou inviting the Grinch to Christmas dinner after he sabotages Whoville's Christmas in the 2018 movie is still a charming holiday moment. The simple message that no one should be alone on Christmas Eve lands a powerful punch coming from the pint-sized Whoville resident.

Harry Potter & the Philospher’s Stone

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone is magical from beginning to end. A completely heartbreaking but beautiful moment has to be his first proper Christmas at Hogwarts when Mrs Weasley sends Harry this own jumper. The complete joy on his face when he realises, he has presents gets us every time.

Home Alone

What says Christmas more than Home Alone! This holiday favourite has so many iconic moments. We have to go for the scene where Kevin outsmarts the crooks and protects his house from being robbed. He really is a mastermind.

its a Wonderful Life

It’s A Wonderful Life is the traditional Christmas movie that has been watched across tv screens for decades. We just love the sentiment of the end scene; it encapsulates the essence of Christmas.

Love Actually

When Rowan Atkinson extravagantly gift wraps Alan Rickman's purchase (Love Actually, 2003). Harry (Alan Rickman) getting slowly more anxious and frustrated whilst keeping out for his wife (Emma Thompson) whilst Atkinson lavishly gift wraps the necklace Rickman has just bought for his office secretary. Has to be one of the funniest but aggravating scenes in arguably one of the best movies of all time.

Miracle on 34th street

Miracle on 34th Street“Since the United States government declares this man to be Santa Claus, this court will not dispute it. Case dismissed.” The courtroom scene in Miracle on 34th Street is unforgettable, as proof that Santa Claus is real makes us feel the holiday spirit flow through our hearts.

We hope you have a lovely Christmas filled with relaxation and love
